JoJo - Demonstrate (2012)

I feel like i’ve been waiting forever.. thought we were a little closer this year as her album was set to come out this year, but she recently announced that she scrapped it, because it didn’t sound like her. No stranger to issues with management, labels, and direction.. i can dig it - she is an artist, she values her sound and wants to put out a true demonstration of who she is. I’m just so ready already, but if this song (produced by Noah “40” xpected to do most of the replacement album) is any indication of what’s to come (pure r&b, grown & sexy) i think i can hold on for just a little longer

Freakin’ Friday: Playa - Cheers 2 U (1998)

I swear I’m stuck in the 90s, but damn if I don’t love this song/group.  This slow jam had me sprung before I even had a clue what love was.  Probably all the reason why my appreciation for it continues to grow in my old age and wisdom (lol).  And, though this number can be clutch deal maker on anyone’s naughty playlist, the entire album deserves a re-listen if it’s been awhile.  It still blows my mind every time.  This group of unmistakable talent is an r&b male group done oh so right.

It’s Freakin’ Friday: Avant - Ooh Ahh

This one is an oldie, but boy oh boy is it a goodie.  I’ve been putting this on my Slow Jam mixtapes since 2000, and it has yet to steer me wrong (wink wink).  And though I’m usually a fan of deep lyrics, “Ooh Ahh” is all that’s really needed here to get the point.  Hope it gets you in that mood!

Freak-a-Leak Fridays: Ideal - Creep Inn (1999)

So Ter, that awesome pic of yours inspired me to search for this little diddy.  It was a breezy, carefree summer in 1999 when Ideal put out one hell of a solid R&B album only to never be heard from again :(.  Anyhow, I enjoyed every minute of it and still do until this day (Timelessness poeple!!!).  In fact, I’ve probably purchased this CD 3 times total to date.  This sultry number was by far my favorite track, which I did not realize until this year contained the Jacksons - Heartbreak Hotel sample thanks to you.  And that only enhances my love for this song.  Now I usually don’t condone illicit affairs in motels…but gon head and keep the party going.

Freaky Fridays - Silk- Meeting In my Bedroom (1999)

Well, ofcourse the obvious choice for #FreakyFriday might have been their 1993 “Freak Me” Single which hit number #1 on the US R&B chart.. BUT seeing as how i was only in the 3rd grade and only came to appreciate that song in my later years when i discovered it.. im fast forwarding to when I knew of silk, and purchased the single in the summer before highschool (DAMN!!, getting old).

We all know the importance of being on time for meetings, what if you were being beckoned like this - with falsettos and all.. im sure you wouldnt wanna be late for this one.. ahh how i miss the 90’s and how people used to go all out with the dance scenes and the obligatory dance girls in combat boots..come back please just for one summer, that’s all i ask

<3 i may have to bump this tonight for old times sake, maybe the youngin’s should take a cue and learn how to “make it nasty” but keep it classy lol

More Friday freakiness.. not sure how this Usher gem didn’t clog the airwaves, but not sure i’m mad about that either, the fact that it flew under the radar made it feel like it was my own special song! 

Seduction is just one of those songs, that embodies what he says in the lyrics -  ”sensuous, sexy, erotic”.. mr raymond doesnt shy away from what he wants to say and use metaphors, but its weaved in so beautifully and the tones… ooh wee don’t get me started on the build up when the young lady starts making it complicated.. i mean ahem.. hard, Hard, HARD
